Toshiba Satellite M65-S809

>> Wednesday, January 14, 2009

Though Toshiba sells four different versions of its midsize, copper colored Satellite M65 laptop, all include virtually identical parts a 1.73GHz Intel Pentium M 740 processor, 512MB of fast 533MHz memory an integrated Intel 915GM graphics chip that lacks its own VRAM, forcing it to borrow up to 128MB of main memory.

A 17 inch wide screen with a 1,440x900 native resolution and a double layer DVD+/-RW drive. The only differences among the four are in hard drive size (a big 100GB vs. an even bigger 120GB), Wi-Fi flavor (Intel Pro/Wireless 802.11b/g or 802.11a/b/g cards), and operating system (Windows XP Home or Pro).

A few things you won't get with the Satellite M65 are Windows XP Media Center Edition and a TV tuner for these and other cutting edge technologies, check out the more expensive Sony VAIO VGN-AX570G.

Otherwise, the Satellite M65 speaks loudly to home and small business users who want a solid multimedia laptop without the exorbitant cost.
